Top LA Wedding Venues That Welcome Marquee Letter Rentals
Which Los Angeles wedding venues allow 4ft light-up marquee letter setups, what each venue's load-in process looks like, and where we've successfully lit up LOVE for real ceremonies.
One of the first questions LA brides ask us when booking marquee letters for a wedding is: "Will my venue allow this?" Almost always, the answer is yes — but the load-in logistics vary a lot from venue to venue. This guide walks through the LA wedding venues where we most often set up, what each one's process looks like, and which work best for the warm-white vs cool-white look.
Hotel ballrooms
Hotels are the most marquee-friendly venue category in LA. They're used to third-party vendors (florists, bands, rental companies), they have freight elevators and loading docks, and they have banquet managers who coordinate timing.
The Beverly Hills Hotel
The Crystal Ballroom and the Crystal Garden are the two marquee-friendly spaces. We deliver through the event-services entrance off Sunset, coordinate with the banquet manager, and set up 2 hours before ceremony. Warm white fits the pink-and-gold aesthetic of the Pink Palace exceptionally well. See our Beverly Hills rental page for zone details.
The Peninsula Beverly Hills
The Verandah and Garden Terrace spaces host beautiful weddings. Peninsula's event team is detail-focused — we work through them on load-in timing. They prefer pre-reception setup (2.5 hours before guests arrive) to avoid any conflict with table setup.
Four Seasons Los Angeles at Beverly Hills
The Pavilion Ballroom and The Penthouse host many LA weddings. Freight elevator access from the service drive makes setup smooth. We've lit LOVE, MR & MRS, and initials here — all four pair well with their contemporary palette.
Hotel Casa del Mar (Santa Monica)
Oceanfront ballrooms with natural light during ceremony and warm glow at reception. Warm white is the move here — pairs with the 1920s beachfront Mediterranean aesthetic. Setup through the service entrance on the back side. See our Santa Monica logistics page.
The Ritz-Carlton, Marina del Rey
The Grand Ballroom and the Marina Del Rey Terrace are frequent wedding locations. Hotel policy allows third-party rentals without restrictions; we coordinate delivery timing with their catering coordinator.
Historic and heritage venues
LA has a strong lineup of historic and heritage venues where marquee letters look particularly cinematic — the contrast between old-world architecture and modern LEDs photographs beautifully.
Vibiana (Downtown LA)
A former cathedral turned event space. The bell tower, stained glass, and cavernous ceiling make it one of our favorite venues to light. Warm white is non-negotiable here — the space was built for candlelight. See our Downtown LA page.
The Majestic Downtown
A 1920s bank-turned-ballroom with a marble-and-gold interior. Their event team allows marquee setups; we load through the Seventh Street entrance and stage in the lobby before ceremony.
Union Station Ticket Concourse
Historic train-station lobby that Metro has opened for private events. Permits are complex but the venue is stunning. Metro requires our setup to clear by 90 minutes before the event start. Warm or cool white both work — depends on your palette.
Ebell of Los Angeles
1920s Spanish Colonial clubhouse near La Brea. Classic LA wedding venue. Letters work best in the Lounge or the Garden Patio. Warm white only — the venue's existing lighting clashes with cool white.
Private estates and residences
Private estate weddings are the fastest-growing category in LA. The marquee-letter setup is often the only "rental" decor element, because the estate itself provides the aesthetic.
Greystone Mansion (Beverly Hills)
LA's most iconic estate venue. Marquee letters are permitted in specific zones — not inside the historic mansion interior, but in the gardens, courtyard, and on the terraces. Setup timing coordinated with the city-park overseer; 2-hour load-in window.
The Houdini Estate (Laurel Canyon)
Historic canyon estate with multiple ceremony areas — waterfall, garden, amphitheater. Marquee letters work beautifully in the amphitheater and on the main lawn. We handle the canyon downhill walk with dollies.
Malibu West Beach Club
Oceanfront private club, beach-adjacent. Battery-powered letters (no cords on sand) are a perfect fit. Setup before ceremony, positioned at the ceremony arch or reception entrance. Our Santa Monica / westside page covers beach-setup specifics.
The Duff Estate (Pacific Palisades)
Cliffside private estate with Pacific views. Backyard ceremonies with ocean horizon in every shot. Letters placed at the ceremony end or reception entrance.
Modern / industrial DTLA venues
DTLA's loft wedding scene has exploded in the last five years. Cool white 4ft letters look particularly striking against exposed brick and concrete.
Millwick (Arts District)
Indoor-outdoor loft space with a greenhouse feel. Cool white suits the minimalist modern palette. Freight elevator access for load-in.
Hubble Studios (Arts District)
Raw industrial loft space. Marquee letters positioned as the main visual element. Venue allows marquee rentals without restrictions.
The Ebell Majestic Lofts
High-ceilinged loft venues perfect for 4ft letters. Building management requires a freight-elevator booking for setup, which we handle in advance.
The Bloc Rooftop
Open-air rooftop with skyline backdrop. Night setups only (no daytime weddings typical). Cool white pops against the city. Weighted bases required for wind.
Outdoor garden and winery venues
Saddlerock Ranch (Malibu)
Vineyard wedding venue in the Santa Monica Mountains. Marquee letters on the ceremony lawn or reception patio. Battery-only (no outdoor power at distance from main structures).
Terranea Resort (Rancho Palos Verdes)
Oceanfront resort with multiple ceremony and reception spaces. Warm white perfect for dusk ceremonies. Hotel-style load-in coordination.
Calamigos Ranch (Malibu)
Sprawling ranch venue with multiple ceremony zones. Letters work at the ceremony arch or reception tent entry. Wedding coordinators here are marquee-friendly and familiar with the rental.
What to ask your venue before booking marquee letters
Before you finalize a marquee letter rental for your LA wedding, confirm these with your venue coordinator:
- Are outside rentals allowed? Most LA venues say yes, but some boutique estates require pre-approval.
- What's the load-in window? Most venues allow 2–3 hours before event start.
- Is there a freight elevator or service entrance? Matters for loft venues and hotels.
- Are there restrictions on setup location? Some venues specify "no floor-standing rentals on the dance floor" or similar.
- When does pickup happen? Hotels usually allow next-morning pickup; some venues require same-night load-out.
