Marquee Letters for Proposals

YES. MARRY ME. Her name. Set up in secret before you arrive — she walks into a moment already lit.

(000) 000-0000

The setup she walks into

The best LA proposals have one thing in common: she has no idea what's coming. Then she turns the corner, walks onto the beach, or opens the rooftop door — and there it is. MARRY ME. 4 feet tall. Glowing.

We handle the logistics of that setup. You tell us the location, the approximate arrival time, and the word. We show up 30–60 minutes ahead, position the letters where they'll land in frame, test both light modes, and leave before you arrive.

Most requested proposal configurations

  • MARRY ME (7 characters — $560) — the most-asked-for setup. Sets the stakes, makes the question unmistakable.
  • YES (3 letters — $240) — second most popular. Some proposers use YES as the post-answer celebration setup rather than the question itself.
  • Her first name (4–8 letters) — "SARAH" or "RACHEL" — intimate, personal, unforgettable.
  • WILL YOU (7 characters — $560) — poetic variation.
  • LOVE (4 letters — $320) — for warmer, non-literal setups.
  • Name + YES (combined, 6–8 characters — $480–$640) — for proposers going all in.

Popular LA proposal locations (we know them all)

  • Santa Monica Beach + Pier — sunset hour, soft light, battery-powered letters against the horizon. See Santa Monica rentals.
  • El Matador, Point Dume, Leo Carrillo (Malibu) — the dramatic LA beach proposals. We coordinate low-tide timing and sand-stable placement.
  • Griffith Observatory — skyline view, cool-white letters pop against dusk. Permits required for the large lawn; we'll coordinate.
  • Downtown rooftops — The Bloc, Ace Hotel, private residences. See Downtown LA.
  • Hollywood Bowl overlook, Runyon summit — golden-hour proposals with LA laid out below.
  • Backyard / at home — our most under-shared location. Private, intimate, easy to scale up with flowers and candles.

The stealth setup process

  1. You book 1–3 weeks out. We lock in the date, time window, and exact location with you.
  2. Day-of we arrive early. 30–60 minutes before your planned arrival. For beach setups we time around sunset; for rooftop we time around dusk.
  3. We set up fast. Letters unpack, position, light test, done in 15–20 minutes.
  4. We disappear. Out of sight, not lingering around the setup.
  5. You arrive. The moment is hers. We text later that night to confirm pickup time (usually after you've left — we don't want to break the spell).
  6. Next day pickup. No cleanup on your end.

Warm or cool white?

For proposals, warm white is almost always the right call. It's golden, filament-like, pairs with sunset and candles, looks cinematic in photos, and feels timeless. Switch to cool white only if your aesthetic is modern-minimalist or the backdrop is a city skyline and you want the letters to compete with it.
